Our German friends visit us!

From Wednesday 4th until Wednesday the 11th of March 2015, we welcomed our Germans colleagues and their students. They came to spend a week with us in Alaquàs! All the German students were hosted by their Spanish partners and their families for a week, and they were able to enjoy the ‘Spanish way of life’!

The first Thursday, the German students visited our school and we were working on the project all together, the German and the Spanish students. Our Erasmus+ Project is called S.T.A.G.E, the initial letters in English for Solidarity, Tolerance, All Together, Gathering, Equality. This project will last two years, and it is about inclusion and how disabled people can be included in our society, and all the students will prepare short plays to perform how to deal with it.

In the afternoon, we walked around our town. We visited our Church, the City Hall, the Castle and “El Passatge”. When we finished, all the students returned to their homes to have dinner with their host families.

On Friday, the German students spent the day in Valencia enjoying a Bike Tour (with two Spanish teachers as guides) throughout the gardens of the Turia River. After that, they went to ‘La Mascletà’ and then they had lunch at the beach Malvarrosa. At night, all students and teachers met to celebrate a mini-disco. All the students spent the weekend with their host families.
On Monday, we went on a boat trip in ‘La Albufera’ and we had a picnic there.
On Tuesday, we continued working on the project in our school and the AMPA association invited all Erasmus+ students to have paella. In the afternoon, were arranged some workshops related to the project (with the cooperation of ‘La ONCE’) that were very interesting.
And this adventure came to an end. We spent a wonderful week with our German friends, and we can’t wait for the next trip in September, when we (the Spanish people) will travel to Germany to carry on with the Erasmus+ Project.
